comic (unifinished post)

It might be late but better late then never I had apothony that even tho i love animation I would not have much ability to create my own work tell my own story's its a sill I would like to develop but I don't want it to block my creative potentential so I thought it I would be able to tell story's faster an with more depth in creating comics / story board. It allow me to create finish products lots faster than animation would allow me.

I made I little story in a comic form in my sketch book which I have scanned in in and started to enhance it. But it wasn't looking grate and the lines did looked rushed even after adding smoothing filters on  to the image i decided to abandon this idea as it seamed a waste of time  and develop more interesting characters with a better story

I had to think about this for a while had to decide what kind of stile I like and how I would like my characters to look the look of the characters was heavily inspired by the Adventure time simple face stile but the body had more sharp edges in the stile of "the emperor's new groove" with sharp elbows and faces but a bit more simple.

finding the final design wasn't easy but i did found some sort of a stile that i liked now i had to see how ell it adapts to different character.

Rotoscope testing (fmp)

FMP proposall

-  Writer Gary K. Wolf

The creator of Jessica Rabbit movie the it was primarily based on the cartoon character Red from Tex Avery's Red Hot Hood. an excellent example of media where only selected couple characters are animated and the rest is real life recording the levels of interactivity is amazing the actors and animations can talk to each other and dance together which is interesting to see definitely will use some thing along thous lines.

- Sean Charmatz
(spongebob squarepants storyboard director,writer,and artist.)
An online artist that brings every day objects to life by putting cute little faces and limbs on them it gives it a nice cool stile it looks like everything is in place and it dose not stand out. It is nice and simple and just short clips that last around 15+ seconds which can be entreating. I will be using Sean Charmatz as my main influence.
The animations are nice and simple and looking well and are cute I like the are short and simple creating an nice interesting engaging funny story

-Ben Bocquelet

The creator of one of my favorite cartoons " The Amazing world of Gumball" it has amazing for me humour, i like like all the background are not drawn they are pictures which contrast well with the characters and the diversity of the characters is big some of them are animated in different way  which all together complements each other well.

One character from thous series that inspired the characters in my work is banana joe. I like how well this simple combination of simple limbs with a details banana works  I thought it will work well with many other objects and bring them to life to interact with actors

-Rotoscope

Max Fleischer was the main inventor of this invention which aloud people to draw on top of film he and his partner  have run first test in 1914 and they where testing it for around 2 years. I think that it is an amazing invention because it allowed people to mix media and create new out comes.

Out of the Inkwell
was an amazing animation created by max Fleischer  One of the first mix of media and shown its potential an possibilities you cant come out with in this time with animation and rotoscoping

More Youtube tutorials
I used "Draw with Jazza" to help me learn new techniques and make drawing human form more simplified and easy to follow decently helped me to target my weaknesses and Improve on my work an be better at portraying human form an movement I storyboards and comics

I Used "proko" to learn more about the human anatomy and and how exactly the body is constructed Very helpful with creating good construction lines that will support the out come of a drawing.

I also whacked plenty of tutorials on how to work with different  softwares and how to operate them in a high manner and so that I know what I am doing
tutorial i needed the most (there where more but not sure which ones they where some that thought me about the the different effects and some that thought me about audio management and other technical stuff)
have to convert video file in to FLV file so it would play on my time line i changed the format by using premier pro

need to check if I actually need to slow the video down or will it be fine it its normal state:
don't need to slow it down but it can make it easier and faster if i do but it can course some problems with the audio and the fece movement can be choppy

final progress

I had to modify the spinning part as it wasn't square and was all wobbly  so i needed to cut it with a saw so i could take it out of the box and change it i had added a long bar out of news paper and tape that then was connected to the spike cog part then was put in to the box going all the way across the inside of the box then the part with the handle was connected to it with a screw(which i should think of using earlier) and secured it there with plaster bandage. it was decently more stable than before.

I thought that the simple cog machine will be easy to compromise as when you make a cog mechanism you need to make sure that the spaces between the teeth are equal and for me that is hard to  achieve. the circumference of the circle was far of for the other cog I made and the teeth wouldn't properly dig in there fore the mechanism wouldn't work. I thought that ch wire would work well with a spoke while as there would be a lot more points of contact and the the spikes can don't have to be placed in a perfect spot and it should spin well.

to make the spike while i used the same way i made the cog by cutting out the correct 2-4 shapes out of a card board and them gluing together to give it a bit more mass and then wrap it around in plaster bandage to make it a little bit more solid then I drove some stiff wire bits in the sides of the while after i covered them in hot glue  to make them stay in the circle.

I had the big while which i was going to put the teeth on but since I decided to to use ch wire instead I had simply cut out the the wire to cover the edge of the while  and attache it to the while with wire elevating it a little bit .

to attache the big while to the box I have used a broom handle I tied down a stick in the horizontal position with a rope close to the top of the handle and put it through the hole in the top of the box I did this way so it could be easily removed if i needed to. I have slid up the big horizontal cog like while and secured it with wrapping some news paper around the broom handle and taping it down at the height i needed it at. (If i was to do it again I would make a card box and maybe mix it with plaster bandage and then firmly attache it to the broom handle to secure the cog while that might have been more stable but I suspect that high amounts of friction could of create some problems)

I added some wires at the top going from 3 different part of the box connecting to the broom handle in the middle to stop it from moving all over the place

the mechanism didn't work because of the of the big horizontal while was to wobbly and the spikes on the small while where a bit to long which can be easy fixed. most of options that would stop the cog from wobbling would compromise the movement the one I tried which was to make wire extension on the bottom of the horizontal cog and then use some tape to make it have slopes/ramps in the area where the wire was joined so it looked like a smooth wire while attached to the cog and it was supposed to be geld up by other wires/sticks but it couldn't hold up the weight it would need extra support which could be time consuming. I come to conclusion tat I'm not going to get any more knowledge caring on with this device
