I see myself as a person who is confident to be part of a team, an organisation and the roles within it.
I take pride in my work that interests me, I do believe I have high creative potential and I always prefer to make sure that the work I produce is to high standards. I am a very creative person, always having ideas to share and develop by myself or with a team, I always want to develop ideas to see where they can end up. I always enjoy creating content, though is normally based in sic-fi and fantasy genres and areas, but I do try and successfully explore all other areas and genres as well. I am a calm and focused and always open to others opinions and take effort to understand them understand as well as sharing my own opinions in a professional manner which successfully helps me to comunicate with a large range of different kinds of people.

PERSONAL INTERESTS


I like to play games of all genres either solo or in a team. I enjoy sports such as rugby, hockey, basketball and boxing. I find the history of prehistoric and  medieval times interesting, especially art wise, seeing how art has progressed over the years. Im interested in all kinds of cultures all over the world. I am interested and passionate in animation and the whole subject and development of movement, I'm always intrigued by different types of handcrafts such as blacksmithing, stone and wood carving.

I am highly interested in animation and character development.

strengths
I am good with shading and knowing the light angles and how it can affect the picture.
I am also good at working in 3D with different materials. I adapt fast.
Good at team games.
I am ok with animating did some amateur first animations that is defiantly
something that I can improve on and I want to improve on it.

weakness
mixing colours is hard for me never can get a colour I want and that can always affect my composition. Working to fast which can affect my work. not having good enough research

  • Not having an digital portfolio at all.
  • Making excuses.
  • Using confusing and unprofessional gallery sites
  • Flaunting Flash.If (you are a flash artist or animator, by all means, have reels and samples of your work on your site. Just make sure itʼs an HTML site.)
  • Only displaying samples of fine art when your goal is to work in games, entertainment, or any other commercial industry.(show all you can do in other aspects of art as well)
  • Being unorganised  
  • Not seeing strong and week aspects of your work 
  • Not including contact details 
  • including fan art and illustrations of characters that already exist (unless u actually worked on developing it )

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

Brown Bag Films has opened a 2D Animation Studio in Manchester and is recruiting for the position of CHARACTER DESIGNER.

Working in a busy creative environment, the successful candidate will work on a new, high profile, 52x11 minute episode pre-school series for a global children’s channel.

The series is being created in Toon Boom Harmony.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Work with the Art Director to refine existing characters and props
·         Create further characters and props in the same style, ready for animation in Toon Boom Harmony

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
·         Credited experience of working as a Character Designer on a preschool series (please provide details)
·         Able to demonstrate design work aimed at the target audience
·         Experience in Toon Boom Animate Pro or Harmony preferable but not essential

Contract type: Fixed Contract

It is absolutely essential that applicants have experience of working within Chinese mythology, cultural references and artistic traditions.
The position will be freelance and will require the applicant to produce artwork that contains one or more of the below:
  • Dynamic, urgent character posing
  • Giving a sense or impression of action and production value
  • Giving a sense of mood and cinematography - lighting and camera angles
  • Blend of storyboard and concept work - slightly weighted on the concept side
  • Taking loose design artwork and paint over to create a more finished, detailed piece

Assistant Professor for Motion Graphics/Animation

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BFA, BA or BS in Art, Animation, Digital Media or other appropriate fields OR a MA or MFA in Art, Animation, Design, Digital Media, or other appropriate fields to be considered for the tenure track Assistant Professor position. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable;
  • Professional experience in Motion Graphics and/or Animation design;
  • Demonstrated and current expertise in: Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Maya, Cinema 4D (modeling, lighting, textures, rigging, and camera movement); familiarity with Nuke a plus;
  • Digital portfolio demonstrating ideation, design, final project implementation;
  • Evidence of engagement in institutional and/or professional service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A record of distinguished teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and/or graduate level;
  • Demonstrated professional/commercial experience working with film and/or video productions; advertising or marketing agencies; entertainment companies; video gaming companies; and/or technical visualization agencies;
  • A digital portfolio demonstrating extensive professional Digital Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, 2D and/or 3D animation experience in any or all of the following areas:  film and/or video production, video game development and production, web design, ePublishing, advertising/marketing production, and/or creative making;
  • The ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience.
